Every morning you wake up and say to yourself today is the day I am going to start my diet



. Remember there will never be the exactly right day so you may as well start today. In this article I will try and give you some simple tips that hopefully can make starting your diet a little easier.

First, the only reason for losing weight is because you want to. You do not want to do it because someone else wants you to lose weight. I am sorry to say you are doomed to failure if you are dieting for anyone else besides yourself. You must find the right plan for you, one you can live with and fit into your lifestyle. What worked for someone else is not necessarily right for you. To be successful on a diet you must be a little selfish and put your needs first so you can be successful in your goal.

Secondly, you want to stock your cabinets and refrigerator with the right kind of foods. Get rid of all those high calorie snacks and fill your refrigerator with a good assortment of healthy fruits and vegetables. Keep low calorie beverages available at all times. Today there are so many low calorie and portioned calorie snacks available make sure you have them available. You also want to have the right foods available to make sure you can eat three healthy meals a day.

Third, try not to put yourself in positions where you will make poor eating choices. Instead of eating a Danish at your morning coffee break, take a 15 minute walk. It will be good exercise and keep you from making a poor decision.

Fourth, surround yourself with people who want you to succeed with your weight loss. You do not want to be with friends who will pressure you to go off your diet.

Fifth, reward yourself with small non food presents when you have reached certain goals you have set for yourself.

Sixth, most important if for some reason you have gone off your diet or missed some exercise sessions, don’t beat yourself up. Just continue what you were doing as if nothing has happened. So many people bow a whole diet just because a few things didn’t go as planned.

Lastly, set small attainable goals for yourself. Don’t look at the total amount of weight you want to lose. Say this month I want to lose a certain amount of weight. If you give yourself to large of goals you will be destined to fail But with small realistic goals you should be able to lose those extra pounds.

Again I will say losing weight is not fun but once you start and see the weight start to drop, you will feel much better. I want to wish you Good Luck and much success in your journey.
